In my most recent trip to Kerala, the southern tip of India, I had the opportunity to host me and meet many amazing hotels . For the uninitiated, Kerala is a popular honeymoon destination in Asia , and is the state of India with the highest HDI, higher literacy rate, the cleaner, the least corrupt.
Bathed by the Arabian Sea and cut by numerous canals that form the Backwaters of Kerala , which give a special charm to this area, wait for a different India than you think and that delights at every turn. Not only for its natural beauty almost intact, but its receptive people who love welcoming tourists. And just imagine, Kerala was selected by National Geographic Traveler among the “50 places of a lifetime” .
To make your visit to Kerala even more special, I selected the hotels that impressed me most during the two weeks that I traveled this part of India at the invitation of the Department of Kerala Tourism . I’ve told the Ayurvedic medicine , which arrived in Brazil for about a decade, came more than six thousand years in the state of Kerala? Oh, just one more plus: the prices in India are extremely inviting !

The first thing that draws attention here is the infinity pool, which gives the feeling to continue into the sea Arabic.
But other things also call attention as a beautifully decorated suite – ask for a room with a balcony overlooking the sea.
The hotel’s private beach, from where every morning many fishermen as soon as the sun rises.
The Sky Bar a deck where we contemplate the sunset.
The excellent and abundant food. And you can make ayurvedic treatments at the hotel’s Spa.
The Leela Kovalam Palace is located in the city of Trivandrum, capital of Kerala state, on the edge of Kovalam Beach.
The Kumarakom Lake Resort is not facing the beach, but the canals of Kerala Backwaters. And, well … also it has an impressive infinity pool.
But this is not the only pool there. There is also another huge on the edge of many of the suites at the resort, great for an evening bath.

And not simply be two steps – literally – this beautiful pool, the accommodation itself is amazing. But the highlight, believe me, is the bathroom. It is chiquérrimo and the open, but with total privacy. I took my bath at night watching the full moon – something unforgettable.

The service here is also impeccable and the food delicious.
Oh, do not miss the morning yoga class. It is the best way for you to start your day in the most relaxed way possible.
They even have suites with private pool. In addition to a spa offering ayurvedic massage.
The Kumarakom Lake Resort is located in Kottayam district. If I told was not enough, there will two more basic information: the Kumarakom was voted the best resort in India and was where Prince Charles recently celebrated its 65th anniversary.
This is a standing hotel in the sand, facing the beach. With a huge garden in their private areas. And with a natureba and ecological footprint in every detail.
If possible, book a suite with private pool.
She is super spacious and cozy, the pool is large and the bathroom … oh the bathroom! It’s one bathroom gorgeous open! They are inspired by the ancient villages of Kerala where the bathrooms had no roof, not only for the sake of increased ventilation, but they find more fun to shower that way.
There are no TVs in the suites and the idea is just that you do not remember it there. And trust me, you will not miss … Use your free time in the hotel spa?
The Marari Beach is located in Mararikulam village.
I left last trump this trip: the best eco resort from all over Southeast Asia, imbedded in the middle of a dense tropical forest. Do not expect good WiFi signal or TV in the rooms. Instead, short your time in the pools of natural water, the waterfalls, the spa in yoga classes, presentations of typical dances, trails offered by the hotel itself, enjoying nature.
To get there, are almost 30 minutes on dirt road. So it is so unique. Until the climate changes, more humid and fresh.
And the suites are amazing, even the simplest. Spacious, comfortable, charming and with an irresistible jacuzzi. Tip: Ask your suite with balcony facing the waterfalls!
But there are two other options im-per-di-ble in Vythiri Resort. The first is the honeymoon suite. I will not explain much, you see in the picture below: the upper floor where is super romantic bed, has glass floor where you see the private pool downstairs. It is drooling!
The second option is for the more adventurous: a suite in a treehouse. But not just any suite and much less uncomfortable. It was built by Indian tribes with materials found in the region and uses solar energy and natural water that comes from the top of the mountains. It’s beautiful, romantic, charming and some even have a Jacuzzi! For me, it is the hosting of dreams.
My perfect stay at Vythiri would have two nights in the suite in the tree house and the other in the honeymoon suite.
Just beware: and lock the door of your suite! There are many miquinhos in the hotel forest and they know open the door handle. It is not uncommon to wake up and come face to face with some on your porch ?.
